PROJECT INFORMATION

Crosby
Lake Gaston

The Crosby's were looking for a Chalet style home with a wall of glass across the back of the Great Room and possible loft above. Their lot sloped sharply and narrowed toward the lake, which didn't work well with a true Chalet style home. Tony was able to esentially break the home into two parts. To achieve the great room vision, we created a open vaulted ceiling space for the kitchen and great room with ample glass for lake views from both areas. Tony then pulled the two bedrooms to the right of the home creating a master bedroom with an amazing view of the lake from the owners bed. We also added a small balcony off the master suite to enjoy in the evenings. The basement is set up with a bedroom that overlooks the lake and a rec room with great water views. The back deck and subsequent cement patio below will provide comfortable areas to relax both in the heat of the day and during inclement weather. Last but not least is the 30" x 60" garden window, which not only provides wonderful light but a great indoor garden spot.

Some design items that changed during construction include the deck and step design to make one connected walkway from the main entrance and rear deck. The circular cement connection from the end of the steps to the patio. This area was originally going to be two staircases with a steep walkdown from the main steps to the lower level of the house. The cement stamping was decided on right before the cement was poured. The chair rail and wainscotting design was originally going to be just a chair rail but Tony found a way to make the wainscotting work in their budget.
